Below you will find updated (January 2019) schedules that will get you directly to Port Barton. We have provided detailed info on the only reputable company, i.e.: SBE and listed some additional timings for your convenience.

Puerto Princesa (San Jose Bus Terminal) to Port Barton

The trip takes 2,5-3 hours in a van and 4 in a bus. Most services make a 10-15 minute stop halfway at a place where you can eat, buy water and use the restroom. The van price is P350 pp or P500 pp if the van picks you up in the airport or from your hotel. The bus ticket is P250 pp.

SBE vans: 6:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1;30 p.m., 4 p.m.
SBE bus: 9:00 a.m. (but be there at 8:30 as sometimes it leaves earlier).

Other services: 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m.,

Most of the services are available in the airport and they leave it around 30 minutes before the times listed above. Please go to the Unified Transport Stand in the Airport and check for the first available service.

El Nido to Port Barton

The trip takes 4,5 hours. Services make a stop in Taytay. The price is P600 pp.  Six different companies agreed to coordinate the service. Passengers book with any of the companies but they will be put on the first free van. This arrangement was introduced to ensure that smaller operators have equal chances and that no company competes by offering lower price.

United transport service: 8:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 5 p.m.

Taytay to Port Barton

The trip takes 2,5 hours and is serviced by United Transport (see above).

United transport service: 9:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m.

To get from Sabang to Port Barton all you need to do is to get to the junction in Salvacion where you can stop any van going from Puerto to Port Barton. Vans reach Salvacion some 40 minutes after they depart from Puerto (San Jose terminal).

Additional information

With the onset of the lowest season (some time in July) vans tend to leave irregularly. It may happen that 7:30, 8:30 and 9:00 o’clock services are cancelled and only the 11:00 o’clock van leaves for Port Barton. Basically vans go when they are full. Same applies to all the van services on all the other routes. It makes a lot of sense to contact SBE and check which service is on. Be very specific.

Here are the contacts:
Puerto Princesa office: Smart: +639194455021, Globe: +639951629155,
Port Barton office: Smart:+639287652181, Globe: +639163691037

The service that is never cancelled is the SBE bus leaving Puerto Princesa at 9:00. It will go even if you are the only passenger.

It also makes sense to book the trip in advance (especially in low season or if you want the airport pickup). Use the contacts listed above.

    1. Hi Ana,

We also want to book the transportation from Port Barton to El Nido. Have you already done this trip? Were you able to book the tickets in advance? If yes, could you please give us the contact details for the company?

      Kind regards

      1. Hello Andreas
I booked it in advance with Recaro Vans. I sent them an email with the day and the time I want to travel. Then you pay when you get the van. From port Barton to el nido there are only 2 times 8am or 1pm. There is one van with recaro and one van from other company which do the two trips every day so it’s recommended to book in advance if you are comming in high season.

Recaro cost 500 php per person and come to your hotel

I hope this info helps you

      2. This route is now very easy. A number of companies consolidated their services and when you book they will put you on one of the regular vans or additional one if the need be. Vans leave at 8 am and 1 pm. You can book in many booking stands in Port Barton. Any will do.

  2. Hi, I need to know if traveling through SBE Vans or Recaro Vans, on the way from Port Barton to Punta Princesa, there is a stop at the airport. And which is the price?Thank you.

  3. Hi, I need to know if traveling through SBE Vans or Recaro Vans, on the way from Port Barton to Punta Princesa, there is a stop at the airport. Thank you.

    1. Hi Patri
I took Recaro Van from the airport to port barton so I believe the other way around is also feasible. I would recommend you to email Recaro vans and book your journey in advance (you will pay at the day but you will secure your place) they are really friendly and respond very quickly to al the emails

      Hope this information helps you
      Kind regards

      1. In high season (dec – may) it is enough to look for a booking office in the Puerto Princesa and ask for a van pickup. Depending on availability you may need to wait a few hours. So it is better to book a few days before.

  4. Hi!

Any advise or recommendation if it is better to book as early as now (Feb) going to PPS – Port Barton even your travel tour will be on mid-year (June). As I read some of the blogs, June – December is the lowest season, which have some low cost. Also, is it advisable to travel at 2pm going to Port Barton and Vice Versa?

  5. Hi, is the van schedule still observed for the lean month of July for Port Barton to Puerto Princesa? If I depart Port Barton at 6am, can I still make it to my flight departing Puerto Princesa at 11:15?

    1. No, this is too tight. The van may not leave 6 sharp. Additionally it may stop on the way or you might got stuck in the traffic in Puerto. I recommend going on a previous day.
Sorry for a late reply. I hope you were not late for your flight.

  6. Hi!
I arrive at 7:45 pm at this Sunday so I won´t make it to the last van leaving from Puerto Princessa to Port Barton at 6 pm. What can I do? I wanted to email Recaro van but didn´t find any email address (don´t want to call cause it will cost too much)

  7. Hello,

I am looking to book 2 people next Friday, August 3rd from Puerto Princesa to Port Barton. How much is it each, and what time(s) does the vehicle leave?

    Thank you.

  8. Hello,

Would you know how long and how much would it cost (by land) to go from Port Barton to San Vicente Airport/Long Beach or the town itself? I couldn’t fins any info re this.
Cause if it’s too much of a hassle, we might just take the boat to PB to SV but a friend of mine wanted to lower the transpo costs.

    Thank in advance, mate!

    1. This route is a tricky one and I do not recommend this unless you want to stay in San Vicente for a day or two (no point in staying longer as for the time being it is a ghost town with nothing to offer except for a walk in the Long Beach).
You can take a boat from the peer. I think it is 5K for the boat (up to 4 people). This is the fastest and easiest way. However if it is windy you will not make the trip.
Travelling by land is complicated. You need to take any transportation that will take you to the National Highway. You first need to reach a junction in Salvacion. This is possible with vans heading fro Puerto Princesa. In Salvacion you need to catch a van going to Port Barton or hire a tricycle. The latter is not recommended as the road is still not finished and a ride is really difficult.

  9. Hello, I look for a contact (email) for RECARO VAN, i can’t find it ! May you help me please ? I look for a shared Van PP-Port Barton on february 17th…. Many thanks for your precious help ! cheers

  11. Hi,

Is there any update on the San Vicente Airport – Port Barton route? is there a more convenient way to travel now? Planning to go in June.

  12. Hi!
I’m looking to travel to Port Barton from El nido on the night of May 15th (around 6pm). All the companies I’ve contacted so far only have vans leaving at 1pm at the latest. Can anyone help me with this? I’ve found that my last option would be to rent a private van worth 5,000 pesos so i can leave at night. If anyone’s leaving el nido for port barton at the same time, please get in touch! x

    1. I wish to ask what transport did you go with and how was your experience? Planning to come in August and I’ll be travelling from El nido to Port Barton.
